"REAL" world accuracy with a SAR
I don't post here a ton, but I do read a lot. Seems like almost every time I read a range report people are talking about sub MOA groups @ 100 yds.
I shoot at a public range quite often (just ask my wife about the ammo bills!) While there and visiting with / watching shooters with SAR type battle rifles, (M1A's AR10's, FAL, etc.) what I actually see (when folks take down their targets or I look through the scope) is closer to 3 to 4 MOA. This is shooting from the bench with a rested rifle, not offhand
Now the bolt action fellas can do the sub MOA thing and I've seen it IRL at the range, I just don't ever see it with SAR shooters IRL. My groups included, unless I'm really really lucky.
So the 64K dollar question is, what is real world accuracy for a SAR?
