I run dry patches through bore before swithching solvents. May be overkill, but.
1. Start with Hoppes elite .Wet patch over 22cal bore brush, then 30 cal. synthetic brush 6 to 8 cycles, then dry patches until they appear clean.
2. Then Kroil, same as above.
3. Finish up with CLP same as above.

Hoppes No.9 is a copper solvent. I, like Leadbug and others, stay away from harsh cleaners. They aren't needed if you keep up with your cleaning regimen. Perhaps once every 2-3 years I clean the bore with a dedicated copper solvent. Then dry patch, bunch of Hoppes No.9, dry patches and oil. If I want to store the rifle for several years I grease the bore.

JB Paste and elbow grease won't corrode your barrel, chrome moly or stainless.

I finish with something that has some preservative qualities (WD40 and Kroil aren't good in that department). I use FP10 for that (it works good, but mostly I like the smell). Wet patch with oil, then dry patch--this keeps excess oil from running down into the action/bedding area.
