Yeah, I'm still waiting. I "think" it's the last piece of major hardware for this setup and I want to make sure I get something that won't disappoint me. Especially since they aren't cheap. I haven't been able to go shooting lately so it's not a concern.

LRB M25s. The one in the rear has the GG&G bipod. Steady as a rock. Here is another of just the one with the bipod.

Greetings,

Not too much to add, but I also have the GGG HD bi-pod mounted via a VersaPod short rail section on my M25 (medium weight barrel & 50mm scope). I swap the bi-pod between all my M14s which have the same short rail and also my AR10. Great bi-pod, but too expensive to have multiple units. The rails allow an quick swap depending what I'm shooting on any given day.

BTW I put a good bit of effort into mounting the rails, using T-Nuts and epoxy to be sure they were very stable. I have two Harris bi-pods as well, but don't feel they are in the same class as the GGG. I'll get around to rail sections for those rifles and then use the GGG exclusively.

Regards, Jim

Thanks from CAVman

Threadsurrection! I don't want to use any epoxy or anything permanent on my rail. What if breaks or I die in a car crash and the person who inherits it wants it located differently? I like modular. That's the whole JAE (or SAGE) concept as far as I'm concerned. Did it move around if it wasn't "glued" down?

epoxy is only as permanent as it needs to be.....easily reversed with heat gun and acetone to clean off parts (metal)

Harris Bipods are fine. They were used on the M25s. Me? I take a standard wooden stock and clear an area in the fore end to bed a piece of bar Stock to re-enforce the fore end so the Torque of the legs opening or closing won't destroy the fore end as I've seen happen several times.

I normally use ACRAGLAS for this since I've been using it since 1975 on M1As. The M14s had to have DEVCON which I don't care for an it's been replaced on the USGI spec sheet for bedding the DMRs.

For clearing the area on the inside of the fore end, I take a Dremel Stylus (100% better then the classic Dremel) and it's easy to do. I will have pictures of doing this when the time comes.

I put a VLTOR ModPOD on my LRB M-25 that's in a Sage chassis.
Really solid. Better than any of my Harris's. But you have to have rails on the side of the forearm.
