New 7.62 built rifle

I picked up my new rifle yesterday from the FFL. Wow does it look good. This is my first M14 type rifle so I do not have another to compare it to but to me it looks damn good!
The fit and finish are excellent. The rifle was built on a CMP HRA "A" parts kit. I picked up the HRT bolt, chrome firing pin and HR barrel to complete the kit.
7.62MM Firearms built the rifle up for me (No Charge)and the only issue that was found was with the oprod. I am going to take it to the range for a short session and then send the oprod out for rebuild.

Thanks you Chris for the fine receiver and build!

Very nice looking build. Let us know how she shoots.

Here's a place to have your tab rebuilt.

What's wrong with the op rod? The tab dimensions?

Thanks for the link.

I have their order form on my desk and I will send them this oprod and one from a WRA M1 that fails the tilt test. I have some LC M80 on the way to break her in with.

If I remember correctly, yes. I will measure before firing.

That's a beautiful first M14 right there. Congratulations!

Did that stock come with the CMP kit? It's a real beauty.

Quicksilvergoat,
From the day I shipped the stock till the day my rifle was received was just under 30 days. The SHOT show occurred during this time frame so may have caused a small delay.

GreatPlainsRifleman,
The stock that came in the kit was damaged. It was missing a chunk of wood in the area in front of the selector cut out and there was a split about 6" long in the forend.
I sent CMP customer service an e-mail with pictures of the stock damage. This stock is the replacement they sent. Needless to say I sent Customer service a big "Thank you!"

Stock metal

Will do, I have a USGI fiberglass stock without metal so I will transfer the metal to it. What do I do about the rivets on the front sling swivel mount?
